Board News

With our officer election wrapped up, we are happy to report that Nael Barakat and Sara Wilson have been respectively elected to serve as NIEE board chair and vice-chair for 2023-4. Dr. Barakat is a Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler, and has a long record of service as an elected member and vice-chair of the NIEE board. Dr. Wilson is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kansas, and has for many years served on the board as a representative of ASME. We look forward to a busy and productive year working with our new leadership, and gratefully acknowledge the service of Greg Soules, our outgoing chair.
